Dartmouth:

The Dartmouth masjid was built in 1971 to meet the needs of the ever-growing Muslim population of the area. However, it’s true origins date back to 1966, when the Islamic Association of Nova Scotia was formed. The masjid’s current imam, Hamzah Mangera, and his wife, Fatema Sidat, who is a certified scholar herself, have both been instrumental in the success of the masjid and its community. Since 2004, they have immensely contributed to the growth of the Muslim community, including teaching children the Qur’an, running a Qur’an memorization program, and tafsir classes. Their teachings of Islam have brought many closer to Islam as well as drawn many new Muslims to the masjid.
